Laura Drion & Daniel Bulatkin DUO
A Jazz Duo with International Flair
Young Dutch vocalist Laura Drion captivates audiences with her open, natural voice and charismatic stage presence, drawing comparisons to legends like Eva Cassidy and Sarah Vaughan. Currently inspired by the artistry of Betty Carter, Laura recently recorded a unique project featuring the music of Bill Evans, reimagined with Dutch lyrics and distinctive arrangements. The album includes contributions from renowned bassist and educator Stefan Lievestro. A graduate of the Prins Claus Conservatory in Groningen and the prestigious Codarts University in Rotterdam, Laura is now an active figure on the Dutch jazz scene.
Daniel Bulatkin, Czech pianist, organist, and composer, is one of the leading voices of the young Czech jazz generation. He has collaborated with numerous international artists such as Ulf Wakenius, Tineke Postma, and Seamus Blake, performing across more than 20 countries. His composition The Simple Things, recorded with Blake, was awarded the OSA Prize for Best Czech Jazz Composition of 2024. Daniel is recognized not only for his instrumental prowess but also as a rising composer and producer.
The Drion & Bulatkin duo has performed at Dutch festivals such as North Sea Round Town and Stukafest, and completed a successful Christmas tour in Switzerland. This concert is part of their second tour in the Czech Republic and promises an evening of musical intimacy, improvisation, and international jazz elegance.
